Zoe Louise: Born in a Lucid Dream, 36 Works on Alpha Sats

Zoe Louise releases Born in a Lucid Dream on Friday, October 16, when the collection opens as buy now listings on ord.net from 3 PM UTC, 11 AM in Toronto, at 0.0048 BTC. She says the works will be available for 7 days and that anything unsold will stay with her. All 36 works are inscribed on Bitcoin on alpha sats, the first sat of each bitcoin mined, with metadata, high resolution files and a parent and child structure. Midway through inscribing she found her alpha sats were not offset to 0, learned to split sats and changed the UTXOs so the vision held.

The series is about arrival. She describes it as an attempt to visually articulate what it is to bring new life into this world, and her collection page calls it a soft combustion of soul and matter, exploring arrival and return. Titles such as Mother's Milk, Receiving, Through Light and Skin Lit Surge read like stages of that passage, and she has noted a Rose Tinted Glasses theme riddled through the set, because, as she put it, how can you dare bring new life into this world without it.

Roses carry the visual language. Her own list of ingredients reads paper, paint, roses, sunlight, moonlight, pastel, shadow, digital colouring and compression, and across the series blurred blooms and loose loops of paint dissolve into blush and peach grounds before flaring into saturated reds. In Anamnesis the dried roses are intentional, a new body for an old soul whose veins hold memory of a time before. Merciless Red sinks the same flowers into a field of deep crimson, while Combustion, Softly is the work she says steered the whole collection into its final form.

Before the sale, the series has also been integrated into the new OrdiGallery, the immersive 3D museum for Bitcoin Ordinals built by The Pandemonium. Zoe Louise says she cannot recommend it enough, calling it a grand way to experience the work.
