Luciana Guerra released The Birth of Luciferina III on SuperRare on October 12, the third 1/1 in a series of oil paintings minted as Ethereum works. SuperRare lists it as an ERC-721 at 0.200 ETH, with the physical painting available to the collector for an additional price. The Birth of Luciferina I and II sit beside it on the same page, listed at 0.280 ETH and 0.200 ETH.
The series as a whole revisits images from art history through a feminist lens. Guerra writes that she is reclaiming a visual territory shaped when women were denied formal artistic training, taking ownership of images historically denied to them. Female figures break free from their assigned roles and become hybrid, mutant and spiritual entities, suspended between the human and the fantastic, that challenge conventional notions of identity, power and the body.
The paintings themselves stay analog. Each Luciferina is oil on canvas, then minted into the Deconstructing collection on SuperRare as a high resolution JPEG. The Birth of Luciferina III is a dense, crowded field of hybrid women, birds, towers, suns and rainbows against a night sky, rendered in bright yellows, pinks and blues. A commenter called it a feminist re-reading of art history that pairs physical and NFT forms.
