Paweł Dudko: Lapse Sells on objkt, With a Way Onto Bitcoin

Paweł Dudko's Lapse, a scroll-driven generative work that slowly fades to black or white, found a collector in the Searching for Balance auction on objkt and carries a teleburn route to a 1/1 Ordinals inscription.

Paweł Dudko sold Lapse on October 6, closing his lot in Searching for Balance, a generative art auction on objkt curated by Shendrik_NFT and MCHX17 for accomparts. "I never thought I'd see my artwork among the top sales on objkt," he wrote the next day. "The competition has always been so fierce!"

Lapse (2026) is a generative interactive animation in JavaScript and WebGL, navigated by scrolling or swiping. As the viewer scrolls, an undulating background is interrupted by rectangular frames that recall photo prints, framed pictures or social media posts. The idea starts from a physical rhyme: sliding a thumb across a screen is almost the same motion as counting rosary or japamala beads, a gesture that turns attention inward in contemplative traditions and outward on a phone. The work offers no reward for it. Only after thousands of swipes does the image fade to total black or white, depending on the direction of the scroll.

The piece also lives on Bitcoin. Lapse comes with a Tezos to Ordinals teleburn: the collector can send the objkt token to an address derived from an inscription ID, a public key with no private key, which makes the Tezos token inaccessible and delivers the 1/1 inscription to their Bitcoin wallet.
