NODE Opens a Studio in SoHo
NODE, the nonprofit home of the CryptoPunks, opened a new Studio in SoHo this weekend with a Punks Brunch, a live performance and a public open house.
NODE, the nonprofit foundation that runs a digital art space in Palo Alto and calls itself the home of the CryptoPunks, opened its new Studio in SoHo, New York City, this weekend. The Studio opened on Saturday, October 10, and Bryan Brinkman shared a photo from inside the space. Posts from the weekend also describe a preview conversation between Micky Malka and Glenn Lowry.
On Sunday, October 11, the CryptoPunks community gathered for a Punks Brunch presented by GONDI and NODE, followed by a public open house at 3 PM with limited capacity. The artist Arsonic performed Sound of Butter live at the opening, using repeated gestures to turn an everyday substance into a fleeting composition. Justin Aversano called the space a new research lab, and Sasha Stiles welcomed NODE to the city.
With the new Studio, NODE now works on both coasts. The Palo Alto space at 180 University Ave is still showing make :**: out by Luke Shannon and Maya Man through November 8, and NODE describes itself as part exhibition space and part learning lab, built with artists, by artists and for artists.
