Credits from $8: Jack Butcher’s X Money Open Edition

Jack Butcher’s Credits turns each eligible $8 X Money payment into a CMYK grid artwork — early public counts are provisional, while Statement assembly and the 1,526 cap are locked in the project rules.

Jack Butcher’s Credits treats belief as material. Each eligible $8 payment through X Money becomes one Credit: the transaction ID is hashed into 256 bits, then split into four 8×8 grids — cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. The payment timestamp selects which layers show; each 8 in the X Money transaction ID registers visually. Each Credit is a complete artwork.

Holders can collect Credits or burn 80 to make a Statement. Per the official project page, Statement assembly opens in 8 days, and a maximum of 1,526 Statements can be made.

On September 22, 2026, Odaily and AiCoin reported Butcher’s early public count — flagged as preliminary, not final — of about 7,162 X accounts and 25,225 unique wallets. Secondary writeups have floated larger Credit totals and marketplace volume; those figures are weaker than the wallet/account numbers he shared. At $8 per Credit the unit economics are public-facing, but Butcher has not confirmed a final gross.
