Consensus, in blockchain terms, is confirmation without a single authority. Curated by Gu Zhenqing, CONSENSUS, the solo exhibition by Liu Jiaying (CryptoZR), takes that idea as a lens on nearly a decade of protocol based practice. The show opened November 5, 2026, at Pao Galleries on the fifth floor of the Hong Kong Arts Centre in Wan Chai, and runs through November 15. Admission is free. Fifteen works are installed, including two new pieces, A Fleeting Dream and Artbyss.

Liu has made conceptual art from blockchain's underlying technologies since 2017, and in 2019 introduced the phrase "Crypto Art" into Chinese discourse as 加密藝術. The Arts Centre maps the selected works along five threads: money as material (ERC20), ownership and meaning (NFT), mechanisms rebuilt on public chains, galleries and museums staged in virtual space, and the boundary between carbon and silicon. Named highlights include Out of Nothing (2017), 1000EYE and Red and Blue (2019), The Consensus, Small Goal, TopBidder and Silicon Time (2026). The Consensus is in the Uli Sigg Collection; Red and Blue is in the collection of the Ulsan Art Museum in Korea.

The Hong Kong stop continues a public museum thread that already includes the world's first solo exhibition of crypto art at the Guardian Art Center in Beijing (2021), the first Metaverse Biennale at the Arsenale in Venice (2022), and Crypto ZR: Arrival at the Saatchi Gallery in London (2023). Liu, a former Tencent Global SNS product designer with an MFA in Experimental Art from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and now an EMBA candidate at CUHK, treats ledgers and code as material rather than as a marketplace. For a practice built on what participants confirm together, CONSENSUS asks a museum audience to walk through that agreement.
